Magical Castles of Wales

Wales is home to some of the most inspiring and magical castles around. Travelling in a motorhome is the ideal way to see the best of them – find a campsite nearby and soak up the local atmosphere, with your comfortable home right there.

Caerphilly Castle

This is the largest castle in Wales, and it has been used as backdrop for many TV and film productions. The castle is surrounded by moats, stretches of water, and rambling fortified walls. The water defenses are an unusual feature, and they involved a level of engineering which was almost unheard of in their day.

It is a great choice for a day out, with lots to explore and easy access for buggies and wheelchairs.

This beautiful castle was voted Welsh Building of the Millennium, and it’s easy to see why. It stands at the top of a hill in the Brecon Beacons with and extraordinary view over the surrounding countryside, and even has a natural cave beneath it which you are welcome to explore. There is a working farm surrounding the castle, so lots more for children to enjoy on a visit.

Because of the location of the castle at the top of a steep hill, it is not suitable for visitors with mobility problems or buggies.
