Because we rent motorhomes all year round and motorhome enthusiasts love to travel all year round, we have heating systems installed in all of our vehicles. Find out how to operate it and also get a few other tips here…
We recommend that you don’t travel with a full tank of water as this affects both performance and economy. The full tank will increase the vehicle weight making it consume more fuel, so emptying the tank until it is about 1/3 full will save you money. When you get to the campsite, feel free to refill the tank.
Also do not forget to empty your wastewater tank before you leave the campsite, this again will impact the performance and economy of the vehicle.
The switches for the heating and hot water system are located on the bulkhead behind the passenger seat. These switches (see images below are for the heating and hot water systems.
This is the heating control:
This is the hot water control:
In the 3 berth model, the heating system controls are located by the seat in the dining area. The Hot Water control is located under the step, by the wardrobe towards the rear of the motorhome.
You will see three buttons on the left hand side of the control the habitation heating.
The switch on the hot water control is a toggle switch for the water control; it can be set to 50 degrees C or 70 degrees C. Be warned than when switched to 70 degrees the water will be very hot and could burn. When the switch is in the middle the hot water is turned off. Leave around 20mins for the water to warm up after switching it on.
The image below is for the winterisation cover for the vent for the heating system. In order for the heating system to work the cover to this must be removed by sharply pulling up on the cover. Remember to replace this before driving off.
