It is known for being the home of the world’s oldest newspaper – Berrow’s Journal, the exquisitely fashioned Royal Worcester porcelain and the world-famous Worcester sauce. The Lea & Perrins factory still produces Worcester sauce to this day, and you can see the iconic factory on Midland Road.

 The Museum of Royal Worcester holds a huge collection of Royal Worcester ceramics, over 10,000 pieces! It is a fascinating journey through the ages of ceramic production, and packed full of beautiful pieces. They also have an extensive gift shop, stocking vintage and modern Worcester porcelain. The Commandery

 
This 12th Century listed building has a lot of stories to tell. Visitors can learn about the varied history it holds and the characters who lived and worked within its walls. Step back in time through 7 centuries of intrigue – with stories brought to life by their state-of-the-art audio system.

This Museum is open Monday - Saturday 10 - 5pm and Sunday from 1:30 - 5pm. Under 5's go free.

Sixways Stadium

Worcester Guildhall

 
The city Guildhall has had a varied history – far from just being an administrative building, it has been a court and even a prison in its time. There is a grand Italianate style assembly room which is full of portraits, and if staff are available, it's even possible to visit the old prison cells.

The Guildhall is open all year round, 6 days a week from 8:30 - 4:30pm

Worcester Cathedral

This cathedral has been described as the most interesting of all the cathedrals. It was founded in just 680, with the beginnings of the current building laid in 1084. The unusual architecture draws visitors from all over the world, and it has a rich history to explore.

Worcester Cathedral is open daily, and you can enjoy a guided tour from May – October, Monday to Saturday at 11am and 2:30pm. From November- April, tours are Saturdays at 11am and 2:30pm. Admission is free of charge.

Spetchley Park Gardens

Spetchley is described as 'one of Britain's best kept secrets' and it certainly won't disappoint. It boasts a magnificent collection of plants from across the world, including the largest collection of peonies there is. Alongside the beautiful gardens is a 150 acre deer park, where you can enjoy the sight of fallow and red deer.

Events in Worcester, 23 - 30 July 2016

Three Choirs Festival
The Three Choirs is one of the world's oldest music festivals and has been held every year since the 18th century. Every evening there is a series of fantastic choral concerts in the cathedral, and you can enjoy food and drink in the Festival Club, where the audience and performers can socialise and relax.

The Festival is held at Worcester Cathedral, Huntington Hall and other select locations throughout Worcester.
